The LIST

So, it's time to start thinking about school supplies again.  I was very fortunate last year.  A couple of my friends took pity on me and my obnoxious list and actually dug their their own private stashes and were able to basically fill the whole list for me.  THOSE are some WONDERFUL friends, folks!

This year, I was determined to get a head start on the list.  But again, our summer finances are just not as "fluffed up" as I'd like, so I didn't get to stock up as much as I'd like.  The list WILL get completed before September 4th, though.  THIS is know!

HERE is our list.  Only 3 kids in school (thank heavens for THAT).

5- 1 1/2" 3-ring binder
1- 2" 3-ring binder
3- notebook dividers (8)
3- notebook dividers (5)
94- pkgs loose leaf paper
132- #2 pencils
X2- pkgs 3X5 lined index cards
2- plastic folders
10- 2 pocket folders
1- 2 pocket folder with fasteners
3- pocket folders, 1 each of green, red, blue, yellow, purple
3- spiral notebooks
7248- pens (blue or black)
9- yellow highlighters
3- pkgs colored pencils
2- pkgs crayons
5- large glue sticks
2- pkgs post-it notes, medium
5  composition notebooks
2- dry erase markers
1- old clean sock
1- pkg thin markers
1- large pink eraser
1- scissors
1- small pencil box
1- flash drive
1- scientific calculator (TI-30XIIS)
1- scientific calculator (TI-83 or 84)
5- boxes facial tissue

This list is not complete.  I don't know what Mary will need for her Smarty Pants Science class yet.  And we don't know Izzy's teacher assignment yet--and the teachers always ask for more stuff on top of the generic list posted online. And I know that a few of Keith's and Mary's middle school classes will send Extras lists, too.  But it's a list from which to start, anyway....

I'm glad that a few things are reusable from last year--pencil boxes, a few erasers, scissors, a composition book in which only 3 pages were written in (REALLY, reading teacher, you couldn't ask for just some loose leaf paper for the freakin' 3-ring binder you require?. *cough*).  And I do have SOME things that I've collected: pencils, some paper, a few folders, pens.  And I now know that I don't need a whole package of loose leaf paper for each request: I can buy maybe half of the 9 requested and then get more if it's needed later in the year.

This is a good place to keep my list and make me accountable, so be prepared for the cross-offs as things get bought.  Sorry, but it really does help!

Now excuse me.  My neighbor has a whole stash of random supplies that she's been getting here and there that she said I'm welcome to deplete.  Hey, I'd do the same thing for her! (And she knows it!)
