Still here

Just been sick with a nasty cold. I'm starting to pep up a little now (but that sinus headache keeps coming back!) A lot of people at work are sick: colds, flu, bronchitis. Germ warfare!

I need to get all the holiday scheduling in order. I think there is just about something going on every weekend this month. I talked Mary out of a big birthday party (which she's been promised BY HER FATHER for the last year) and instead we're going to have "just a few friends" for a sleep-over. I got her by telling her that we could make some of the fairy crafts from a book she checked out from the library. But now I gotta make good on my promise and get to the craft store to buy stuff to make some fairy invitations. I dunno--maybe paying a few hundred dollars at Barfy Cheese WOULD be easier! So, watch me get all crafty now! Woo hoo!

Friday night I'm going out with my friend L for my birthday. I think my birthday needs to be moved. She and I never manage to get out for it in a timely manner, so it's always cold and snowy when we do. Ah well. Looking forward to spending some time with her--WITHOUT kids.

I guess I gotta start my holiday baking early this year. I have to go to a cookie exchange party next week--and bring SIX DOZEN cookies. I'm actually kinda tired of making cookies, kthanx?! Can't decide if I'm going to make another batch of chocolate chip, or if I wanna work on my upper-body strength and make a batch of monster cookies. Wonder if Swistle's peppermint brownies would work? Or are brownies too much of a cop-out for a cookie exchange? (Granted, these have a LOT MORE WORK to them than my usual brownies: out of a box.)

Speaking of baked goods, I regret to say that I did manage to gain 2 pounds last week. See? Good thing I didn't buy any new pants when I discovered most of my old ones were falling off me. Maybe after Christmas, I'll be able to comfortably fit into ALL my old clothes and not have to spend a dime!

And a final self-esteem high: This morning a co-worker says to me, "What's the deal with your hair? Just let it go this morning?" I said yes. *ahem*

No, no, they're ALMOST as easy as box brownies (which I also love)! I think the key for me is that they're made in one saucepan, rather than getting the mixer all dirty. I hate washing the mixer. Try them, you will see! ALMOST as easy as boxed! Especially if it's the kind of boxed where you have to add a fudge sauce packet or whatever. Mmmmmm, fudge sauce packet.

Also: I can't find your email address, but you won that $25 gift card. So email me! Swistle at gmail dot com! And I'll get your info to my boss, who will send you the gift card.

Also: the word verification is "bling."
