Oh boy

What a busy few weeks this has been!

Mary's GS troop baked TWELVE pies for the homeless shelter's Thanksgiving dinner.  It was completely awesome.  We even taught them how to make their own crust.  And!  We had "real" pumpkin donated to us.  This is our second year baking pies, and those meetings definitely stand out as two of my favorites of the last two years.

Izzy turned 6.  SIX!  And had about the longest birthday EVER as we had a party (eep!  four crazy 5-6 year olds!  shrieking!  and popping balloons!), and went out to dinner (OK, actually, kinda TWICE), and then a cake on her actual birthday, and then presents from two other relatives to open while we were in Indiana....  Yeah, it was a LOT of love for that little six-year old!

So, yeah, I also turned 38 somewhere in there.  (eep!)  But I got a Kindle, and that kind of makes up for it!

And then yes, we drove to Indiana for the holidays--and to finally lay Dad to rest.  And for once we actually got to see almost everybody we wanted to see.  Maybe not for as LONG as we wanted, but hey, a half hour visit is better than NO visit, right?  Right?

And we got to eat TWO Thanksgiving dinners.  And I ate a LOT of pie.  And then came home and baked ANOTHER pie.

Mmmmmm....pie.

Other than that, I started my new part-time temp job this week.  It's working out pretty well, so far.  (My co-workers cuss like sailors.  I heart them!)
