My cold has been kicking my butt, but Sophia is now 12 days old, and I can finally have a conversation without hacking a lung. Progress!
We are totally in love with this tiny baby. The other three kids are doing great (so far). I'm getting slightly more sleep than I imagined since she goes about three hours between feedings at night. Three hours seems such a luxury after the 1 1/2-2 hour spans her siblings gave me!
By the time she was a week old, we'd already had three sets of guests in the house. Crazy, but still nice. I got a lot of good food cooked for me by my mother and my father. And now one of my friends set up a meal train, so we're receiving comfort food every night. That's...just awesome! I wish I had been this spoiled with the other three!
Now that the visitations have died down, I'll see if I can ever finish the birth story. It was similar to my other three and yet also completely different, ya know? Just...weird.
Sophia did well at her 5 day check-up and goes to the doctor again on the 2nd. She's got a bit of jaundice, but it's nothing to fret about. It's already fading nicely.
Here's the awesome pic John managed to capture on St. Patrick's Day.
Seriously, one cute baby. :-)

Aw. I love gummy newborn smiles. Glad you're getting a little sleep at least. Though even the idea of being woken every three hours right now sounds hellish. I'm still in denial about the round the clock nursing stage that is fast approaching! :)
Also glad you're getting fed! Comfort food is a must after a new baby.
