That's honestly not a fair question to ask an English major, no?
Amusingly, my son asked me the age-old question the other day, "Hey, Mom, if you were stranded on an island and could only bring one book, which one would it be?"
After some deliberation, I told him my hard-bound collection of Jane Austin's novels. I read them the most often (the book is simply in tatters now), and it never fails to amuse me and cheer me up. So, a bit of a cheat (again)--one book which contains several--but hey, I gotta have my Jane.
