I usually don't go overboard with the Easter holidays. Don't know why....? But this year was different. Actually, I blame a co-worker. He brought in some dark chocolate-covered marshmallow eggs which are made by a local candy company. After having one, I decided that I had to get them for the kids' Easter baskets (which I usually end up raiding more than they do). So, I spent $20 at this chocolatier's store. Then spent even more on candy at Wally-World because what's an Easter basket without peanut M&Ms? And robin eggs? Oh! And Jelly Belly jelly beans! And while I'm here, I'll just get them a few outside toys as we now have a back yard in which to play! Yay! Anyway, Keith and Mary (and even myself) were astounded at the hoard that the Easter Bunny left on the kitchen table Sunday morning.
We decorated 18 eggs. Amazing! Especially since no one likes hard-boiled eggs in our house--and deviled eggs are somewhat "suspect". Yikes! What was I thinking? And I even let them open the new Plah-Doh colors that the Bunny left--so that we had a big Plah-Doh-ey mess to clean up alongside the dyed eggs (why not clean up ONE big mess altogether?).
AND I baked a strawberry pie. Which John and I haven't shared with the kids YET. It's too good for their immature palates! (And gurgling tummies).
There was no outside Easter egg hunt as there was SNOW on the ground. Honestly! Gotta love living in Rochester! But Mary hid the plastic candy-filled eggs for Keith, and they had fun with that for a while.
Yes, it was a great Easter. And even though the warning signs were there (as early as Saturday morning, I was expecting the "eruption" of Mary's tum because she kept complaining her stomach hurt and that she was burping the pizza we'd had for dinner Friday night), we all enjoyed the day as a family.
Until that 4:20 wake-up call that night, that is. *sigh*

Well, hours of good wholesome family fun are better than none at all. Cheers to you, this time with Maloxx or something like that ... not just for the kids' stomches, but for yours.
Happy Easter!
Mm, I ate all of Addy's candy, too. But really, I'm sparing her, right? She'll be addicted soon enough. Me, it's too late for.
Carrie keeps mentioning 4:20. I think she realized it comes twice a day and was already up tokin' when Mary puked.
...IN the Billard Room, WITH the Candlestick!
