It's The Easter Mole Man!

Forgot to tell you all about the conversation Mary, John, and I had about the Easter Bunny. I've never really pressed the bunny or the Santa issue on my kids. But this year I did happen to mention the Easter Bunny, in just a little side comment. Well, Mary, the precocious one, says to me, "I don't really think there is an Easter Bunny." "No?" I said, "You don't think that there is a giant bunny hopping around hiding eggs and baskets?" "No," she says, "I think it must be one of those people--you know the ones who work at night?" (Getting this idea from a conversation we had months ago about how some folks work during the day and some at night). "Oh really?" "Yeah, because they can see better at night--you know like those animals? Bats? Or...?" "Moles?" John supplies helpfully. "Yeah! But oh, it's people, not animals." "So, it's the Easter Mole Man?!"

John and I cracked up over that one for quite some time. I kept laughing heartily about it for a few minutes after that. "What's so funny?!" Mary wanted to know. "Nothing, honey," says John. "You are just too smart for your own good."
